Founded by Healthy Little Cooks and a charity partner of McCormick Flavor For Life, Every Kid Can Cook is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization who’s goal is to foster positive mental health and social emotional learning in youth through culinary nutrition leadership development, prevention of poor dietary behaviors and school-based community education programs.
Every Kid Can Cook’s mission is to improve the mental, academic, emotional and physical well-being of youth through culturally inclusive culinary nutrition education, leadership opportunities and programming.
Nutrition Education Equity
Youth and families in underserved and vulnerable populations are disproportionally impacted by mental and physical illnesses that are preventable or managed with healthy food, food access and nutrition education.
Youth Nutrition Leadership
A child is 2.7x’s more likely to make healthier food choices when they watch their peers cooking with healthy food vs unhealthy food. All EKCC programs teach and create opportunities for youth to become leaders.
Social and Emotional Health
There’s a direct relationship between a healthy diet and a healthy mind. 60% of the youth in our programs have reported increase in positive behavior and social interaction with peers.
