Fruit and Dip Snacks for the Whole Family

Here at Every Kid Can Cook, we’re committed to empowering kids and their families to cook and eat healthy. One great place to start, especially with kids, is improving the way they snack. Because almost everyone loves a little something sweet, adding more fruit into their diet is a great place to start. To make this snack more fun and enticing, serve it with a dip! Below, we’ve listed our favorite fruit and dip combos that we know your kids (and entire family) will love!

Berries & Whipped Nutella

Blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, and strawberries are full of important vitamins. Nutella is a sweetened hazelnut and cocoa spread. Nutella is pretty dense, so to make it “whipped”, combine ½ cup Nutella with 1 cup of whipped cream. Whip the mixture with a hand mixer until it’s light and fluffy. This consistency makes it better for fruit dipping, and cuts back on some of the sugar content.

Apples & Peanut Butter

We’re sure you’ve heard of this delicious pairing. But did you know that this snack includes an ideal ratio of fats, carbohydrates, and protein? Not only is this snack satisfying to your taste buds, but it will also provide you with lasting energy until your next meal. If your child has a nut allergy, use sunflower butter instead!

Grapes & Whipped Cream

Packed with vitamins C and K, this snack is perfect for a hot, summer day. Not to mention, it’s easy to pack on the go, too! Make it even “cooler” by placing the grapes in the freezer for 15 minutes before serving.

Bananas & Greek Yogurt

Start by placing Greek yogurt in a bowl and top it with banana slices. If you’re ready to kick this snack up a notch, add in mixed nuts, unsweetened dried fruit, seeds, and granola! This snack is packed with protein, fiber, and healthy fat.

Pineapples & Cottage Cheese

To your kids, this one might sound a little odd at first. But once they’ve given it a shot, we’re confident they’ll fall in love with this sweet snack. Pineapple provides tons of vitamins and energizing carbohydrates, while cottage cheese provides protein!
